Duluth
I went to Duluth with my mom, sister, and grandma. We drove up to Split Rock Light House and climbed around on all the rocks down by the water. We actually retook a picture we took in 2007. It was us, me and my sister, standing on a rock with the cliff behind us that had the lighthouse on it. After we were done at the lighthouse we drove up to a little town, had lunch, went to a little shop, and stopped at Betty's Pies. We didn't get any pie because it was super expensive. We did however go to DQ and get blizzards. Then we went to the hotel, THE EDGE WATER PARK HOTEL!!!!!!!! We got to play at the water park until it closed that night and played in it until we left the hotel the next morning. Then we went hiking at Lester Park. After that we went shopping down town and got giant PB cups. While in town we ate lunch at Grandma's. Then we came home.

P.P.S. - If you click Alt and the 1 I told you about earlier it makes ☺
P.P.P.S. - If you click the Alt and 3 I told you about it makes ♥

A long Wait
I am sorry I took so long to post something. I started school, Eschel, Literature Class (Wednesday), etc. This was not at the top of my priority list. But I will try to give you a update. I started school the last week of Aug. it went fine and I am kinda in a routine now. Eschel started the first week of Sept. and that is going great too. I take 3 classes at Eschel, my co-op, Speech, Science, and Writing. I am actually going to give my 1st speech this year tomorrow. It is a Dramatic Reading Speech. As for Literature Class, I am going to have my first class Wednesday. the book is called "The Giver" by Lois Lowry. It is not a book I would pick out but it is a good book and it's good for me to read a variety of things. We are still taking care of my baby-toddler cousin and she just graduated! To I know this is super big, The Next Size Car Seat!!!!!! I think it is big. :) Anyway I am just about to print out the final copy of my speech.
One last thing. I would love it if you told people about my blog. I do love to see that people are reading.
Thanks,
-Pie

Jimmy's car show
Jimmy’s
Car Show
-White Bear MN – Sunday, July 10th 2011, in the parking lot at Jimmy’s the American Muscle Street Rod Car Show took place. There were over 100 cars there ranging in makes and models. Color and Style was evident in all the cars. And someone as inexperienced as me, could see that time was put into all of them as well.
At the Car Show the first car we saw was an Amphicar. An Amphicar is a car that was made to drive on the road and the water. The car I saw was white with red seats and had propellers in the back under where the trunk would be. The car was owned by a man named Ken.
The second car I saw was a 1960 Ford F100 Pickup. The man who owned it was named Mike and he lives in Lino Lakes MN. It was red and had original parts and a wood floor in the back of the truck.
After the Pickup I saw a 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS. (super-sport) It was owned by my Grandpa but then he died and now my Uncle Chris does stuff with it. “Part of the reason I like the Impala is because Papa liked it.” Chris stated. Last year he won the Best Classic Car for 2010 by Best Buy. 5 cool facts about his car are: It was built by a man named Jerry Thomas. It is a unique color that is usually used on corvettes. The motor is from 1961. It was built in Janesville WI. And it is 47 years old.
The next car I saw was a 1969 ½ Super Rare-Super Bee. It was Electric Green and was owned by a couple named Dan & Darsey.
An ElCamino. That was the next car
I saw. It was a 1968 ElCamino that was a dark navy blue. It was owned by a man named Scott and he told me that he loves blue.
Another car I saw was an Austin-Healey Bug-Eye Sprite. It was owned by a man named Dave who was from England. It was black and had flames all over it.
The last car I saw was a 1923 model T c-cap fire truck. He had spent a whole winter on it in other words he built it himself in six months. It had metal seats from an airplane and eye stickers on its engine.

Bedtime thoughts
Last night I couldn't fall asleep. I was thinking about how I could make my blog Pie-News, not random thoughts. Then I thought I could maybe try writing articles. I have written an article before and I got an A. It was about a boy named Johnny and well, I have to start from the beginning. So last year over Christmas break I had to read the book Johnny Tremain, by Esther Forbes. It was a good book but I don't think I need to read it again.(it's kinda a boy's book) Anyway, later I had to write an article about something that happened in the book, for writing class. Some tips about writing articles are: The first paragraph should be all a person needs to read to understand what happened if they don't have time to read the whole thing. Second, have some quotes from people who were part of the story. (I used quotes from Paul Revere and Mr. John Hancock. Note that in the book they did say these things but not for this article.) Here is my article I hope you like it. Notice the first paragraph and quotes.
Promising Young Apprentice Burns Hand
BOSTON - Up and coming apprentice, Johnny Tremain, received a serious injury causing his thumb to be melted to the side of his right hand, at the Lapham Silversmith Shop Sunday afternoon. Such an injury has ruined his dream to be a silversmith.
The accident happened while Johnny was working on an order for Mr. John Hancock. His fellow apprentice handed him a cracked crucible as a joke to teach him a lesson. When the crucible was filled with hot silver, it broke spilling silver all over the furnace and onto the floor. Johnny slipped and put his hand on the furnace to catch himself. Unfortunately, his hand landed in the molten silver scorching it immediately.
“Just a few weeks earlier I had asked if he’d like to accompany me in my work,” stated Mr. Paul Revere. “I told him I would pay his unexpired time and that if Mr. Lapham wasn’t sure to tell him I’d pay a little more. But now that the boy is crippled, he’ll be no help to me.”
Mrs. Lapham did not call a doctor but a midwife, because she didn’t want it to be discovered that they were breaking the Sabbath. They called Gran ‘Hopper, an older woman who lives down the street.
After returning home and finding that his family had worked behind his back, Mr. Lapham melted down the creamer that they were making for Mr. Hancock.
“I never did receive the creamer that I ordered for my Aunt Lydia Hancock’s birthday.” Mr. Hancock explained with a sigh, “We did have a whole set but a clumsy maid melted the creamer.”
Johnny is still recovering, but doing well. He now delivers papers for the Boston Observer on his horse Goblin.

Fireworks, Friends, and freedom.
Friends, and
Freedom!!!!!!!!
First of all, FIREWORKS: We went to my grandparent's house for the 4th and got to go on a boat, on White Bear Lake, to watch the Fireworks.! Today my grandma and I thought of a way to grade fireworks: On a piece of paper make five columns, one column for each letter. (A-B-C-D-F) Then when you see a firework grade it. (put a tally under the grade you give the firework.) Later add up all the tallies and average them out. then you have your Fireworks GPA. :)
Next, FRIENDS: Some of our friends came all the way up from Illinois to visit our cousins and we got to see them on the fourth!!!!! (they came with our cousins to grandma's.) We also got to see family on my grandma's side that we hadn't seen for almost a year.
Finally, FREEDOM: My mom can walk!!!!!!!!!! She is so happy and now is almost free. She still uses one crutch to help her along but is able to put weight on her leg and foot.

Maddies back!!!
Even though today is rainy there are a lot of things to do like reading a book, watching a movie, playing a board game, card game, etc. My favorite book series is called The Lily Series. It is about a girl who is going through life and how she gets in a mess and God helps her out of it, how she depends on him and turns to him for help. I like them because they encourage me. I just finished "Lily Rules", and I have started "Rough And Rugged Lily". There are fourteen books in the series:
-Here's Lily! (1)
-Lily Robbins, M.D. (2)
-Lily and the Creep (3)
-Lily's Ultimate Party (4)
-Ask Lily (5)
-Lily the Rebel (6)
-Lights, Action, Lily! (7)
-Lily Rules! (8)
-Rough and Rugged Lily (9)
-Lily Speaks! (10)
-Horse Crazy Lily (11)
-Lily's Church Camp Adventure (12)
-Lily's in London?! (13)
-Lily's Passport to Paris (14)
There are also nonfiction companions to all of the books, but I don't read those.
You all know how if you've signed up, you get emails telling you that I've posted something. Well I would like to know how many people read my blog, so could you all please come to my site on May 31st so I can check my stats and find out. Anytime on that day before 5 o'clock and then I will check to see. Just read an article and I will be able to tell.
Thanks,
There's a wonderful thing that gold cannot buy a blessing that's rare and true. And that's the gift of a wonderful friend, like the friend I have in you. Alaina H.
Love You :)

3 problems
1: Saturday night my mom tripped and hurt her left leg and right toe. We now know that she broke her lower leg bones, kinda smashed her ankle, and broke her pinky toe on the right foot. Today she is going to have a surgery to get her ankle screwed together so that her bones can heal. Please pray for her and that the surgeons will have swift and safe hands.
2: My hamster died and now we have only a cat and a dog. Her name is Georgia Peach and I have had her since July 2009. She died in her sleep and I think she died of old age. Hamsters only live for one-two years. :(
3: This is good news and bad news. You know how my sister and I had a lemonade stand. Well we both earned around $10 maybe more maybe less.:) The bad news is that I dropped the key to our lock box into the box so we can't get it open.:( It was an accident.
That's all for now. Thanks, Romans 8:28 - All things will work together for the good of those who love the Lord.

2:Last year my sister and I each earned $36 and some cents. :)
3:We sold cookies (home made), popcorn (salty, buttered, and sweet), lemonade, water, and dog treats.
It was awesome!!! We are going to be at their house until 9 or 10 o'clock. thanks,
Ecclesiastes 5:19 - Moreover when God gives any man wealth or possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy with his work- this is the gift of God.
Colossians 3:23 - Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, and not for men.

Tambourine Show
Tambourine: (tam-bor-ee-n) A small drum held in the hand used for dance and worship.
I love it and would recommended it to anyone. I was in three dances - We go up (a very fast song) -Majestic (a regular speed song) - Awesome God (a worship song and slower than usual). I was also in two community dances: Hinei ma tov (hin-ey ma toe) and Hava Nagila. (hah-va na-gee-la)
Yesterday I also read a story, that I had written, to my class at Eschel (my co-op). Everyone loved it and thought it was funny. So a good friend of mine told me to post it. Here it is:
Comfrey
Once upon a time there was a beautiful young lady named Comfrey. She had long flowing tresses that shimmered in the sunlight and glowed in the moonlight. Naturally Comfrey lived in a comfortable cottage in a beautiful garden. Safely this garden was placed in a desert where no one could get to Comfrey and her mother, Jaya.
Comfrey’s garden was setup this way: on the north side she had fruit trees, on the south side she had a vegetable garden, and on the east and west sides were flowers. Dearly she took care of the garden and it became her pride and joy. Jaya, Comfrey’s mother, only took care of one part of the garden and that was where she grew herbs which she put in her medicines (potions).
Comfrey also took care of the cottage. Fervently she tidied up and did all the chores without a complaint while her mother sat in her room creating potions and other substances. If one walked in the door they would see a large room with a fire place at one end. The room had tables and chairs, a large wood burning stove, and a cabinet filled with beautiful flowers, books, and canned goods from their garden.
Through that room one walks to get to a staircase, and up it was a hallway with a door on each side. Within one door was Jaya’s room and within the other was Comfrey’s room. Jaya’s room was dark and dreary, but Comfrey’s room was colorful and very welcoming.
Beneath her smiles Comfrey was growing tired of the wall, the cottage, and the garden. For her view was nothing but a vast expanse of desert and sky. She knew that if she asked her mother if she could go that she would be watched constantly for she had done it once when she was little. So without her mother’s permission she crept out of the cottage, through the garden, and over the wall in the early morning air.
Exactly at noon she looked behind her and realized she could not see the garden wall. She felt scared and lonely for the first time that day. Decidedly she turned around and kept walking.
Unknowingly, Jaya was sitting at home eating lunch and waiting for Comfrey to join her, so they could chat and drink some tea. Her morning had gone regularly enough, she had woken up to find Comfrey had eaten and gone out to the garden early, read a book on potion making, and made lunch for herself and Comfrey. Calmly unaware of the place at which her daughter was located, Jaya cleaned up lunch assuming that Comfrey had brought a lunch out to the garden and had eaten it on her own there.
At this point Comfrey was tired and hungry for it was late and she had been walking all day. Stubbornly she told herself she would not stop until she fell asleep in her tracks. But at twilight she discovered an oasis and happily decided to stop there. Delighted she saw fruit trees, a lagoon of cold fresh water, and shade, glorious shade.
Unknown to Comfrey, a prince, Prince Gallalot, had been riding on his horse, Lancehead, towards a garden, Comfrey’s garden, and had planned to stop at the oasis where Comfrey had stopped. When he got to the oasis he tied his horse to a tree and walked to the lagoon to get a drink. At that moment Comfrey was coming down to the lagoon to get a drink and saw Gallalot there. She cried out in surprise and fainted, falling onto the sand. Gallalot hearing the scream jumped up and drew his sword only to find a maiden lying on the ground.
When Comfrey awoke she was lying next to a warm fire and covered with a coat. Leaning against a tree stood Prince Gallalot gazing into the moonlight. Feeling safe she went back to sleep.
Abruptly she woke at the sound of Lancehead’s loud neigh. Finally feeling relaxed, she ate some fruit for breakfast and then she and Gallalot went for a walk. Later, feeling very attached, Comfrey and Gallalot spotted a tower that was very far to the east. Now the land was setup like this: in the south was the king’s castle in the midst of the bright welcoming forest, to the west were the Icy Winter Mountains, to the north was Jaya’s Garden, and to the east was the tower. Separating them all was the Scorching Doom Desert with the oasis in the center.
Happily they decided to go back to Gallalot’s father’s kingdom and get married for it was love at fourth sight. Sight #1: the lagoon, #2: last night, #3: Lancehead’s neigh, #4: on the walk. Unlike the King or Queen’s plan, Comfrey and Gallalot moved to the tower and loved the place.
While Comfrey was sleeping with the prince’s coat over her Jaya was running about the garden calling Comfrey’s name and despairing at her loss. As a last resort she went and consulted her crystal ball. Watching Comfrey with the prince was too much and she decided she would get Comfrey back.
Despite the distance she started on her journey and came to the oasis as Gallalot and Comfrey were moving into their new tower. The next day while Comfrey was gone Jaya went in to have tea with the prince while she waited for Comfrey. As they were talking Jaya decided not to get Comfrey back but curse the prince instead. Standing, Jaya cast her spell and then left and went back to the garden, happy that Comfrey would be sad forever. Unlike regular spells Jaya cursed the prince to be dumb as a rock for the rest of his life. The only way to break the spell was for him to win a game. But, being stupid he could never win.
When Comfrey returned she was baffled and could not figure out what had happened. Gallalot clambered over to her and tried to tell her. Amid all the trouble she stayed calm and remembered a spell she was taught when she was young; the Rock-Paper-Scissors anecdote. Slowly she took Gallalot’s hand and put it in the shape of a rock then she made her hand into the shape of scissors and placed his hand on top of hers. He won the game and the curse was broken. If she had lost her head in despair she would have never saved him, but now they could live happily ever after.
- THE END -
I hope you liked it.
Thanks,
Psalm 150 - 1 Praise The LORD. Praise the LORD in his holy temple. Praise him in his mighty heavens. 2 Praise him for his powerful acts. Praise him because he is greater that anything else. 3 Praise him by blowing trumpets. Praise him with harps and lyres. 4 Praise him with tambourines and dancing. Praise him with stringed instruments and flutes. 5 Praise him with clashing cymbals. Praise him with clanging cymbals. 6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. PRAISE THE LORD
